Just a quick thank you to everyone involved in the strikes at the moment. It really is nice to see such a show of solidarity against the evil slave drivers that are Royal Mail - who do they think they are expecting you to work the hours you're paid for, espcecially given that you're only paid 25% more than workers at other postal companies.

I totally agree with the way in which this is being done, by screwing over all of the small business owners who keep Royal Mail in business.

Well done guys... I think all other small business owners who rely on the postal service would be with me in saying a big THANK YOU :):)

It's easy to have a go at them, but i'll bet you don't really fully understand the issues behind the dispute and are just picking up on Daily Mail style headlines when you make your sarcastic remarks. I don't pretend to know everything that this centres around either, but if you join an organisation with an employment contract and an expectation of certain conditions and outcomes, then why should employers have the right to change this in order to satisfy shareholders? Surely all stakeholders in an organisation are important and shareholder interests shouldn't always take precidence over workers and their families' right to security.

Just one quick thing too..job security and low turnover for workers has benefits for us too. On a number of occasions post has been incorrectly addressed e.g. wrong house nr, no street name, wrong postcode, and yet it has still found its way to me - i can only put this down to a postman who knows his route and cares enough to try and deliver his post correctly. I'll bet this doesn't happen where you have high staff turnover due to poorer working conditions.
