Hi everyone i am new to this so please bare with me. A friend recommended this website and it is fab but i am desperately in need of some help. I have organised a surprise weekend in London for my husbands 40th birthday in February. What i need help with is finding a restaurant that is happy to have children present, but is also ideal for a surprise get together with family and friends. Is there a restaurant that anyone knows that can accomodate this or am i being too fussy? I have looked at the rainforest cafe but the reviews weren't that good, it would be nice if it was somewhere out the ordinary but this isn't compulsary..
Please can anyone help, look forward to hearing from you

Hi kms, welcome

It's always nice to be recommended - say thank you to your friend from us :)

Right then:

The obvious places that are ideal for this kind of event - plenty of space, family friendly etc are the chain restaurants like Angus/Aberdeen Steak Houses.

Aberdeen Steak Houses

However, if they're not quite special enough then try these:

Alexander's Restaurant (Liverpool Street)

Ma Potter's Chargrill (Queensway)

Getti (Marylebone)

Gili Gulu

Planet Hollywood (Piccadilly Circus)

Pizza & Pasta Paradiso (Belsize Park)

Bodean's BBQ (Soho)

Your best bet is to try restaurants like the above that will be more lively. It's much more relaxing to eat somewhere where you know that people on other tables aren't complaining about the noise your children are making.

Hope that's of some use, if you need more suggestions let us know.

Hope you have a great time.

Hi everyone,
thank you for your help it is much appreciated. I was hoping to find soemthing different and special as it is my husbands 40th, but it is quite hard to find when you don't know london and haven't been for many years. With family and friends (up to about 30 people at mo)joining us on the saturday it i just wanted it to be special. We will be staying in the waterloo station area as well so was looking for something not too far away from the hotel due to children being so unpredictable :)
many thanks for your help so far, if you do have any further suggestions then let me know asap please :)
