I think you'll have a job to see London in just one day ... there's just tooooo much to do and see. I would definitely see some of the main tourist bits though and try and do it on foot if you can - London isn't exactly at its best from inside the public transport network! How about starting at Green Park, walking to Buckingham Palace, then down to Westminster and the Houses of Parliament and then going down the river towards the London Eye, the Southbank and to the Tate Modern...just keep your fingers crossed for some nice weather :)

for the evening i have a favourite route... start in Hush (lancashire ct near Bond Street Tube) for cocktails...go to Rocket (just opposite) for a reasonably priced but really original dinner then head over to Loop on Dering street for some post-dinner drinks and cheesy dancing... will that do you as a starting point?? Anyone else have any suggestions??
