Bookcrossing release in Queen Square, London, WC1N Monday 18th February 2008. I am keen to promote the concept of 'BookCrossing', which is defined as "the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise". The term is derived from bookcrossing.com, a free online book club which began and encouraged the practice. Bookcrossing.com's stated goal is to "make the whole world a library". Anyone who wishes to participate in "releasing" books must register on the BookCrossing.com website. Anyone who finds a book has option to make a record of the find on the website and remain anonymous. For full details, go to the Bookcrossing site at www.bookcrossing.com.
I'm promoting book releases on Monday 18th February. I aim to leave a book/books at the southern end of the Queen Square park (nearest tube Russell Square). Time permitting I will return at about 13.00 to see if my book has been taken and/or any others left by anyone who has seen this message. Please pass this message on to anyone who may be interested.
