Hi there Philiy

Good decision to move to London :) I have to say though that i think £400 per month is a pretty tight budget. Some other people may correct me, but when i was initially looking to move to London in 2001 I was told that our budget of £1500pm for a 3-bed place was tight and we did have to up it a bit to get a place that we liked.

I'd have a look at www.foxtons.co.uk if I was you just to give you an idea of what is available for your budget...I wouldn't necessarily recommend you use them to get your place but their website is really good to help you get some initial ideas.

Maybe have a look there and if you see some places that interest you you can always post back to ask whether the areas are any good.

Hope you get somewhere!

Hey Philiy!

Hmmm, you may be struggling to find a place that centrally located on the budget you've set yourselves. But bargains do crop up but you'll obviously have to make concessions on the size/ location/ state of repair of the place.

A better idea may be to live a little further out. The tube goes out right past the M25... which still connects you really easily to the centre of London, and you can be in Paddington from Reading in 40 mins! OK, so nobody's suggesting that you move out that far but it will certainly be much easier to find somewhere within your budget the further out you go.

Research the various areas of London as thoroughly as possible. South of the river is usually cheaper, as is east London. Ring around as many local agents as you can to see what you can get for you budget.

Hope you find something and feel free to post back if you've got anymore questions :)

Good luck! :)

All the best,
