Hello everyone!

I'm interested in visiting the following landmarks - Bath, Stonehenge, Winchester, Windsor, Salisbury and Avebury.
I know that some of them are situated close to each other and I'd like to ask if it's possible to visit some of them together (so that I didn't spend a lot of time on passage). Could you advise me something, what could I combine?

Thanx in advance)

Hi Dimas,

They sound like good places to visit to get a flavour of the south of England.

Windsor is just out of London and isn't a very long journey at all.

Bath, Salisbury and Stonehenge are all quite close together (along the M4 motorway in the West of England) You wont't fit them all in in one day but it may be nice to plan a short trip of 2 or 3 days.

Winchester is also just a day trip away from London in the south of England - in fact this destination could possibly be taken in whilst returning from Bath/ Salisbury etc

... and Avebury is about halfway between Salisbury and Winchester.

Alternatively if you would like a guided tour you can see some of the tours available on All In London here:
London and surrounding area tours - one of them take in Windsor, Oxford and Stonehenge on the one trip.

Hope this helps.

All the best,

AIL Staff

i live not far from Winchester, its got wonderful history and architecture. Great shops and cafes. There's a place called Cheyney Court which is must see which is quite near the Winchester Cathedral. Also Marwell Zoo not too far out from Winchester.

there are quite a few tour groups which visit various combinations of those places e.g. http://www.destinationguidelondon.com/?p=28. they may be worth a go particularly if you're not too familiar with public transport, etc..

hope you enjoy your visits! :)
