Good day to you all, Waving

I am new to this forum and will be moving to London over this summer to start a job in September.

I am looking for advice on areas to live and how much to spend on rent. I'll be on around 24k but have no idea what areas of london are nice or what to expect. I'll be working around the Victoria area if that makes any difference to where to live.

I'm from the north of England so would probably prefer to stay north of the river to make it easier to visit back home. Any suggestions or (positive) stories of what to expect from my first few months in London.

I'm really looking forward to living and working in london.

Hey! I'm moving to London in September too, absolutely can't wait!

I was wondering the same thing - I'll be on about 28k (an online tax calculator worked that out at about £375 a week after tax) and I'm wondering how much my rent should come to? I'm from Ireland so don't really have much of a concept of London costs, though I know they're high obviously. I want to live in central London and don't mind paying extra for it - if anyone could tell me the price of a single/double room in a nice area of central London I'd be very grateful. :D
