Hi Em

The beginning of September can be really lovely and warm in London - the past few years have been great with temperatures reaching the low 20s. I'd say 25 degrees is a maximum. If you're unlucky though it could just be autumnual and therefore around 15 degrees. By the end of October it is definitely likely to be cool although not really cold. I think this is similar for most of northern Europe. Obviously southern Europe will be warmer.

If you're centrally located in London, you don't need to worry about finding things to do. Bloomsbury is on loads of bus routes/between lots of tube stations so you'll be very mobile. You can also do a lot things on foot from there.. if you want to go shopping all you need to do is head for Tottenham Court Rd and then on to Oxford Street. You'll find the further towards the Marble Arch end of Oxford Street you get, generally the nicer it is with the more up-market shops.

Hope you have a great time
:)
