Hi,

I'm considering making a move to London in October and was hoping to learn about others experiences. Anyone that made the move from the U.S. would be helpful. I've got some great information about job hunting so far but need help on what I should expect to pay for rent on a Studio or One Bedroom and a good area of the city to live in.

About me: I'm 24, into all kind of sports and will probably join a few teams and would like to live in a part of the city with some good pubs/clubs. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hey there!

Welcome to the Forum!

Well first off - London is a great place to live (especially when the weather is as nice as it is today :)) and I reckon you'll have a great time here.

Right - what to pay from a flat really depends on where you want to live. The further out of London you live the cheaper (by and large) the prices will be. Prices can vary from £650/ month to £2500/ month and over for smart pads right in the heart of the capital... but it's easy to find a compromise - you just need to know where you want to live.

You can see our London Region Guide - this gives you an idea of what some of the most popular regions are London are like to live in. Check some of them out and see how you get on. After that you can start tracking down letting agents in those areas to find out how much properties are to rent.

Of course, feel free to post back on this thread and we'll help out however we can.

All the best,

AIL Staff
