Hi everyone! My mum and dad are coming down from the country to visit my new place in Clapham. They are coming down on Sunday for a roast in a pub somewhere in the area and then they are here Sunday and Monday day and night. I want to do stuff in and around the area with them. They are not strangers of London so nothing too touristy! I wanted to go to the Landor Theatre on Sunday night but their current show stops in the Satyrday - argh!! PLEASE HELP!! Thanks

Hi Suzy,
Welcome to The Knowledge.

Here are a couple ideas of what you can up to on the Sunday, this is by no means a comprehensive list of what you can do in London on that day, just a few ideas:

www.allinlondon.co.uk/whats-on.php?type=&day=6&month=11&year=2005

(you can get these ideas by going to All In London's What's On section and clicking the day of the week that you're interested in.)

It also depends on how far you want to travel from Clapham; as the Harry Potter Premiere is on Sunday... celebrities, red carpets and that sort of thing. Might be something a bit different but don't know if this will appeal to you and your parents.

Hope there are some ideas there.

I'm sure somebody else will chip in with some other ideas.

All the best,

Hi there,

There's a pub on the corner of Clapham common that does really good sunday roasts, can't remember what it's called but I think it's a purple building, might not be there anymore though, this was 2 years ago.

For fry ups there's a great cafe, fanatsia I think it's called near Clapham old town.

The clapham picture house is always a good place to go, they've usually got a couple of blockbusters showing aswell as some more arty films.

A walk to Battersea park is also a good option if it's not too cold. One sunday a group of us walked from Clapham North to Knightsbridge on a cold December day, it's an excellent hangover cure!

I'll try and think of some more things and post again.

Cheers

Hi Suzy,
The BBC London Jazz Festival closes on the 20th, that's always something a bit different. There are loads of venues across the capital participating.

You can see more details of the festival here:
www.allinlondon.co.uk/whats-on.php?event=3714

- and if you click through from that page to the official website it'll show you the programme for each day - there are a couple of gigs on in reach of Clapham - one at the South Bank Centre and one in Chelsea.

Hope this might be of interest.

All the best,
