DJs who annoy me

I've been listening to a lot of radio lately and some DJs are really beginning to get on my nerves.

What is it about Jo Whiley and "new music"? She's always on a quest for new music... does she think that it will stop her from getting old or something? It's all she ever goes on about. Give it a rest, Jo.

Also as a bit of a break from Trendsville on Radio 1 I sometimes venture over to Radio 2... and all Steve Wright goes on about is "The Big Show"... "that's my show, The Big Show on Radio 2". Big Show this, Big Show that... me think that Steve might continually go on about the size of his show to make up for being short-changed in other departments? Nod

I've never liked Chris Moyles.. arrogant and not even talented. If you take him out of his Radio One comfort zone he really looks a bit awkward and tries so hard to be funny that he isn't.. wish he'd realise that he's not that good.

I think Moyles' show is actually ok, but he's not the reason for that. I've yet to laugh at anything he's ever done/said on TV, he just looks awkward and shouldn't bother trying. He lifts most of his comedy from Peter Kay and the rest is based on ridiculing people who can't defend themselves, he's just not naturally funny. The only funny moments on his show generally come from comedy Dave or Dom, they're actually quite funny in a "having a laugh down the pub" kind of way. If they weren't on the show it would be dead in the water.

As for the huge number of listeners they get I'd guess most of that is down to the national/global distribution of BBC Radio and the huge advertising it gets across the BBC network. The rest is due to the fact that Radio 1 is generally tuned in as preset 1 in most cars :smug:

As for Jo Whiley, I won't even bother starting.

The only reason I'd ever listen to Radio 1 at the moment would be either Zane Lowe or Colin Murray's show.

Mark and Lard were the only reason to listen to Radio 1 back when I was at Uni. Absolutely brilliant show and I think them going marked the start of Radio 1's journey towards becoming the awful dross that is is nowadays.
