On the one hand I would say u should take the euro but I think it is better for the UK. Of course it would be easier for tourists so we don`t have to change money before going to London or in another city :)

I travel into Europe a fair bit and so on a practical level I'd like to save those 3 minutes at the Eurostar terminal getting Euros :smug:

I have no sentimental connection to the pound, I really don't care if we change it. I just hope that when it happens it doesn't shaft the economy.

Is it a case of when or if we get the euro?

I like the pound

NEVER!! the pound is one of the strongest currencies! and it's one of the oldest money (if that makes any sense lol) it represents us and to be honest i don't want to see someones face on a bank note who i don't even know, having the queen on a bank note is the best!!

and also i hate being part of europe, i'm sick of eastern europeans coming into this country just to rip everyone off!

umm... bit un-called for and ignorant, wouldn't you say?

The government are the ones ripping us off, not people from another country. I'd like to think I coul emigrate to another country without this kind of prejudice.

Sure there are people who abuse 'the system' but they are a mixed bunch of British and immigrants. To suggest Eastern Europenas come here 'to rip everyone off' is ill-informed and unfair. Most who come here from other countries work hard and earn a living, and send money back to their families. A lot of them do the jobs that most British folk turn their nose up at (cleaners, for example). maybe there wouldn't be so many people coming over 'taking the jobs' If the unemployed, benefit-lovers of Britain got off their a*ses (I'm not saying all those who are unemployed are lazy scroungers, but those who are are the ones who should be doing something).

Back on topic anyway, I think the pound should stay. I don't like that the Euro was brought in anyway. Can't say I'm an economy expert, but it adds something to the country when they have their own individual currency.

you're right, it is the government but alot of eastern europeans do come over here for the money, but i guess its not just them. I just hate credit card fraud i guess you could say. So i guess it's the government who let these people get away with it.

i do apologise ;)
