All In London
Hey y’all,

We’re about to launch a new “Clubs” section to All In London which will allow users to host or be members of specifically themed online clubs on the website.

Now these may be purely online clubs such as, for example, an online book club where members get together to talk about books that they are reading... or possibly they could serve as an online page for an offline club such as, for example, Barnett Running Club where members can read up on what’s happening at the running club and the latest events/ training programmes etc.

Each club will be run by an All In London user and they’ll be able to maintain all the page details such as the description as well as images, events that are coming up, accept or refuse membership and host their own discussion forum. The content will be available for everyone to read but you’ll only be able to add to these forums and get involved if you’ve been an accepted member of the club.

We were wondering if any of you lovely users want to get involved from the off and host your own club in the new section?

Here are some possible ideas for clubs:

- A money saving/ thrifty club – you could all swap tips on saving money in these challenging times
- Car enthusiasts clubs – geared towards certain types of cars or maybe just a general “supercars spotted in London club”?
- An online book club – where you can all read and discuss books
- Photography club – where you can all share your photos and give tips or discuss and list workshops etc
- Theatre club – where you can talk about the latest west end production
- Dining Clubs – discussing the latest opening or best menus in town
- Fan Clubs – do you love specific movie stars , bands or artists? Maybe you could chat with like-minded people?

... and don’t worry if someone has already set up a “Theatre Club”... there are no rules to say there can’t be more than one club dedicated to a certain topic. If you think your club could give a different spin to a topic then get it set up on All In London.

Also we’d really like to get existing offline clubs involved – maybe those that don’t have a great online presence or whose website are difficult to maintain... our clubs pages will be really easy to edit and keep up to date. So you’ll be able to set up your club page on All In London and then direct your club members to it to keep them abreast of your latest club news, upcoming events, past events, industry news and have a good ol’ chat on your club forum.
So this could apply to the following: canoeing clubs, horse riding clubs, running clubs, car enthusiast clubs, judo clubs, dating and social clubs, musical band fan clubs, bowling clubs, diving clubs... in fact, just about anything you can think of.

And best of all... it’s completely free!!!

If you’d like to get involved and set up your own club in All In London’s new clubs section or if you have any questions then please email us at: [email protected]

So can anyone set-up a club page? You don't have to be invited by AIL to start one?

I'm having trouble deciding what club I want to have...

Though I'm wondering, is it not going to detract from the forums somewhat? I'm having trouble picturing it properly. I am only small.

Morning kf,

The idea is to keep the clubs separate from the main forums as much as possible. They are supposed to be an extra thing to look at/read rather than replace what's already here.

We're aiming to get lots of London based clubs that exist offline using the system to give them an online presence for free. Explaining this to people is quite difficult though as they all think that we want something in return :) What we get in return is more people joining and using the site and so more page reads, so whilst it's good for us it is also genuinely free to use.

We'll be kicking the section off with a TV club :)

All the best,
