Bone heads leaving bags or parcels on the Tube

In light of the recent events that took place in london in July, can everyone please be more careful with thier belongings when traveling on the Tube.

I was on my way to a meeting last friday when over the PA system the driver advised that there was a suspect package on the train, he then advised everyone to vacate the station in an ordery fashion.

Now aside from this making me late for my meeting (which i can deal with, and everybody understood why i was late)while i was exiting the station with hundreds of other people all i heard time and time again was, "some idiot has left their bag on the train again!" i realise that this is the much less of two evils but, i am quite concerned that should one day one of these bags actually contain an explosive device people will not take it seriously (which it already seems to be going that way) even though it was not that long ago that we where actually bombed.

I know that we are all really busy but it only takes 2 seconds to do a quick check before you get off the train.

cheers.

I think there would be a lot more trains, stations and buses being evacuated if more people took the threat more seriously.

A big part of the problem is that people are too "British" about it and don't want to make a fuss or draw attention to themselves. I was on a bus a few weeks after 7/7 and noticed a strange looking case in the luggage rack, in my experience people usually stand next to large pieces of luggage to prevent them being stolen, there was hardly anyone on the lower deck of the bus and none of them looked like the case would belong to them (a big assumption I know but it's easy to guess who might own such a large haggered looking case). So, what did I do? Tell the driver and get him to stop the bus and locate the owner and sort out the problem? No, I got off the bus as I thought people would think I was being paranoid about the bag. Luckily it wasn't a problem but I think that kind of thing happens every day where people would rather quietly get off the bus/train rather than create a fuss.

Just my 2 cents Happy

He he being a half-sleepy I left a BOSS shopping bag in the DLR, shortly after realized that and called DLR Customer Services. No bag found. I wonder how brave are those guys grabbed a bag as it was quite big and with shoe box in. If it were me I would scare, that there is a bomb in a bag.
