The Peacock Bar & Club Opening & Launch Parties on Friday & Saturday February 20th and 21st

The launch
The Peacock, Clapham Junction’s newest 2am bar & club opens with two fabulous launch parties on Friday & Saturday February 20th / 21st. Doors open at 7pm with opera, cabaret & burlesque performances early including Mata Hari’s Dance of Feathers and Alan Costigan’s performance of great Puccini arias. Later on in the evening Paul Knight & Nervous Stephen spin 80/90s pop rock indie from the pulpit (literally!) to the adoring crowd with dancing till carriages at 3am. With complimentary flavoured gin shots & canapés throughout the night this will be a night to remember! Entry is free b4 9pm and £5 afterwards (guestlist free all night) Book your reserved area and guestlist early to avoid disappointment!
The styling
The Peacock is as effortlessly stylish as it is comfortable paying homage to retro, baroque, rococo and any other style we like. Think Ercol 1950s table nests perched next to Georgian chaise longues with 50’s Scandinavian modular sofas around a 60’s G Plan hi –fi console. All this set in a Victorian drawing room with a Chesterfield fronted horseshoe bar, stunning all glass spirits display with a huge golden peacock at the front door to greet you and a Victorian pulpit at the back of the bar for our Djs to preach from. We break all rules so maybe it should not work but it just does. The Peacock changes with the seasons too beginning the day as a café before turning into a luxurious bar & finally a club late night Friday Saturdays. All in all making us the perfect place for your occasion whether it's a lazy morning browsing, Sunday lunch , afternoon tea, a swift drink after work or a full on night out
The café
The Peacock starts the day early as a café with dazzling array of coffees, teas, freshly squeezed juices and snacks to perk you up. Try our Honeypresso – 4 shots of espresso sweetened with fresh honey - liquid ecstasy so good it should be made illegal (and probably will be). Relax a while in one of our comfy sofas with a complimentary paper (broadsheets only except The Sun of course) and enjoy a Fruitopia – freshly squeezed mango, banana with a touch of grapefruit to give it that je ne sais quoi. Or maybe use our free WIFI to catch up with friends online. At lunchtime enjoy a delicious crab & caviar Panini washed down with a Rasberry Coulis perhaps. Or come in for afternoon tea and try some of our home made cucumber sandwiches (no crusts of course) scones, jam & Devon clotted cream. Oh and we have a exquisite range of home made cakes & tarts too - definitely not for those of us on a diet. With board games (think Monopoly, Scrabble and Snakes & Ladders) we are the perfect option for ladies that do lunch but need to keep children occupied too.
The bar
After 5pm we metamorphosize into a luxurious bar with a drinks selection to die for. As well as those so boring standard beers & spirits we boast London’s widest range of Belgian fruit beers on tap and in bottles with over 25 different flavours with classics such as the draught Strawberry Fruli Fruit Beer complemented by more exotic flavours from mango through to chocolate via banana and lemon – come and taste for yourself. On the spirits side we have an exclusive range of Monastic Meads brewed by monks in Suffolk and the choice of Kings since William the Conqueror but now available to non Royalty too! We also stock the full range of Geneva flavoured Gins all thirty of them. On a more modern tip we boast a world class cocktail and wine list designed by master mixologist Emiliiano Casciello of Oxo Tower & Atlantic Bar & Grill fame including his signature Taj Mahal – a Cosmopolitan with an Eastern Twist. On the food side our menu perfectly complements our drinks whether it’s a party platter or Sunday roast you choose.
The club
We have not skimped on the entertainment either bringing you the finest live performances & Djing. On Fridays from 9pm-2am we have “Oh What a Lovely Recession” with legendary DJ / Impresario Paul Necklace of Living fame bringing you the best and the worst of 80s,90s,00s – dance away the recession blues to the soundtrack of your life. On Saturdays from 9pm-2am we bring you “It’s a Party” with the wonderful Joe Egg and Nervous Stephen behind the controls for more 80s,90s 00s treats just like a house warming party from many years ago. With carriages at 2.30am from our dedicated cab rank we are sure you will leave fully satisfied. But do come early as every Friday and Saturday we have a pole or burlesque displays at 9pm on the dot and our prima donnas don’t like to be kept waiting
We have not forgotten the weekdays either. On Thursdays from 9pm-12am we bring you “A Night at The Sands Casino” where our oh so well groomed crooners will serenade you with classic songs from that bygone golden era think Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin and that’s just for starters. And to cap it all on Sundays 8pm-12am we have “A Night at The Opera” where aspiring opera singers will soothe your ears with classic arias from Puccini to Queen whilst our staff in white tie and 30s cocktail dresses cater to your every whim (but do feel free to come in jeans and trainers). The perfect end to the perfect Weekend. And on other evening expect to see classic arthouse films playing on the walls with a funky soundtrack selected by our mix meisters to provide the perfect backdrop to your evening.

Jennee
Hi, I am looking for somewhere to hire out free for my birthday party next saturday. I would like to reserve a space in a bar for about 50 people somewhere that starts off as a bar but either also has a club area or dance floor later on. Location would be central, perhaps Soho or Notting Hill area. Would be grateful for some recommendations.
Thanks!

Hiya Jennee..

I just tried putting 50 people into the AIL party-finder search box and a whole load of options came up
http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/venue_finder.php?type=1&groupsize=50

Of those highlighted in blue, most look like Late Night London venues which have what you're after - bar first and dancing later. I don't know all of them, but quite like Babble and think it would make a great b-day venue.

Hope you have a fab night :wizard:
