Don't you think South London's style is unique compared to the rest of London?

I wanted to share this collection of photo's with you all that are all around London's south (and a few odd ones from other London area's), all pictures viewable in high resolution, who knows you might see your house.

Photo's are taken in places such as Mitcham, Thornton Heath, Croydon, Streatham, Deptford, Stockwell, Dulwich, Wimbledon, Roehapton and a lot more places.

It is, due mostly to the time London expanded South in the 30's and onwards. Means we have very specific styles of housing down this way compared to elsewhere, which isnt always a bad thing!

Yes it's also why South is a good place to live, it's not all the same as the other parts of London. Most places vary, and even those places that look strikingly similar may have the odd building or landmark that indicates you are infact somewhere else.

I really can't say I've noticed.

I have noticed, however, that Mitcham is a dive.

most of it is i agree, but there is a small green with very old cottages on the outskirts, that is very sweet.

also a lot of areas are protected from further development, that helps too.
We live in an area that was once owned by the Quakers, it is protected and can never be changed, it has some very odd rules about what you are allowed to plant in the front borders. Also we have some odd rules like we all share garden fences and have to pay a penny a year to a specific charity. Its a super place to bring up children and all the quirky rules help keep it unchanged. NO shops no pubs! but miles and miles of common land and views to die for.

Yea Mitcham has some nice parts and old cottages in some places.

A lot of South London is nice you know, most people don't realise the boundaries go all the way down to Banstead, or even Biggin Hill where it borders Kent.

Think how big of an area South is. Compared to the other side of the Thames, that whole region above the river is divided into several regions, including West, North and East London, with postcodes like W1, UB1,NW1,N1,E1, etc) whereas every where South of the river is considered South London (SW or SE, when you go out of those areas you have different postcodes like KT or CR) (up to the boundaries of the surrounding counties).
