Hiya,

OK I've got to come clean, the short hair ideas aren't for me - there isn't much hair there as you can see Happy

... it's for my other half, she's always had really short hair (like cut above her ears short) and she's been trying to grow it for a few months now, (it's now covering her ears) and she's got an appointment to get it styled at the beginning of next month but she's really struggling for ideas - most of the hair magazines that she buys seem to concentrate on long hair.

Has anyone give any advice on some sources of inspiration (websites etc) or post through some photos?

This'll definitely put me in her good books Happy (Which will make a change.)

(oh she's brunette, if that makes any difference.)

Thanks very much.
Happy

the beehive effect is lovely on short hair too and looks very sexy with a swept over fringe, forget the Amy Winehouse go for the posh hive!

Nice one Ellie, they're great ideas, thanks.

It doesn't look too different from Agyness Deyn at the moment (only she thinnks it needs thinning a bit up top) she reckons it looks a bit of a 60s mop at the moment. I reckon it looks fine though - but what do I know?!?! :-?

She was half thinking about Sarah Harding's new do but didn't know if it would be manageable - she doesn't like having to faff too much with her hair with loads of products - and also because her hair is dark she doesn’t know if it will look as good; although she's also thinking about putting some colour and highlights in?

If only she knew her hair was getting discussed on a forum... I bet her ears are burning :)

haha yeah i bet they are burning....

if she wants to go for some colour its not always great to go for highlights in the winter as your hair can get dull and damaged with the cold weather making highlights seem faded and you can see hair thats in bad condition
(not sure what condition her hair is in?)
Go for warm brown shades like honey and chocolate that will make hair glow in winter.

As for the not wanting to bother with lots of products she should tell the hairdresser that as some cuts just wont look right without the products and some hairdressers will do a difficult to style cut.

Nice one Ellie, that's great.

I'll impress her tonight, over dinner, with all my new-found hair knowledge and pass on the pictures and ideas.
