I read my stars for 2009, and they were so on the mark it was very freaky.
My other half thinks I am daft to even bother reading them. Over the years I have had lots of strange things happen odd dreams that come true, readings that are spot on and daft things like thinking of a person and they ring there and then.

Have you and experienceslike this, do you believe in such things or do you think its all rubbish.

I can't decide!! Confused

Stars are rubbish. But if it makes you happy then feel free to believe, it isn't harming anyone.

When I was at uni I was the only one in my hall to buy a daily newspaper, and one of the girls came along every day and asked me to read her stars. Each day i chose one at random, and at least twice a week she'd come back and say how spot on it had been!

lol

that does show that it is rubbish, but i think reading your stars might just give you the confidence to do something and maybe thats why its so spot on, maybe? lol

A lot of it is subconscious suggestion. You can make people think about boats by asking them to draw a picture of any object. Keep it simple, just dont go overboard, etc

If it makes people happy then it's just a bit of fun, but 'psychics' that prey on the gullible ought to be locked up.

Perhaps the funniest thing on TV ever was Clinton Baptiste, the psychic on Phoenix Nights. I'm getting 'nonce'

I agree that there are ways to make suggestions to folks and ways of obtaining information by clever questioning.

What about the likes of the guys who get into very personal information that no one could know like John Edwards... He is always sopt on and never gets it wrong.

There are many, many ways these charlatans can cheat you.

Some years ago I attended a show staged by the South Place Ethical
Society (www.ethicalsoc.org.uk) in which an illusionist performed
demonstrations of various "paranormal" scams: talking with spirits (via
"cold reading"), mind reading, psychic surgery etc etc.

He was quite open about the fact that it was all trickery, and explained how a lot of it was done, the purpose being to debunk this crap. A majority of the audience were probably skeptics, but there were others who vocally disagreed with him: they thought he really *was* a psychic, and that either he didn't know it or he was lying for some reason.

It was a good show, and the reaction of the audience was definitely part of the entertainment value.

its strange the whole topic!
what is and whats not real.
My dad is the biggest sceptic the world has ever had. If you can not see it or prove NOW it is not real.
He attended under duress a show with my mother.
The chapmade a b'line for my dad, asked him if he could touch his back, Dad thought lucky guess as most folk have a back probelm. The chap touched the very spot he had his problem and dad felt heat from his hand thro his leather jacket. The problem never returned. Dad still does not think he cured it tho.

It was a good show, and the reaction of the audience was definitely part of the entertainment value.
