Hi Andy,

Welcome to the forum!

Belgo's is supposed to be a good restaurant experience in the Covent Garden area... if you like beer and seafood - I think their speciality is mussels/ lobster, chips and Belgian beer! ... and who doesn't like that (well apart from alcoholics and people with shellfish allergies!)

Click here to see more about Belgos

They also used to do an offer where if you ate at 5pm you paid £5 - if you ate at 6pm you paid £6 and so on... this may well have finished though.

There's the market inside the piazza with loads of cool stalls and shops - you could always buy her something nice :) ... and there's nearly always some nutters in the area doing street performances which are well worth a look.

On top of that there are some cool bars/ clubs nearby in the evening - try Fuel which overlooks the piazza or the Gardening Club under the Rock Garden - which is a nice intimate venue.

Hope this helps.

Have a good night and good luck ;)

All the best,

I know it's a bit late (hope the date went well, is there going to be a follow up?) but here's my 2 cents. As a general rule don't over-commit on a first date. Meet somewhere for a drink and see how you get on before suggesting grabbing a bite or a movie or whatever. This gives you a chance to see if the vibe is right, and if it's not you can just call it an early night and go your separate ways.

I still remember an awful first date where we met for dinner at a really nice restaurant. It was pretty obvious by the time we were half way through our starters that it wasn't working out and the rest of the meal was just excruciating. Funny thinking about it now, but I learned my lesson the hard way!
