Hi,
I have some friends coming to visit me for the weekend as a surprise for my best friend's 19th Birthday!
Can you suggest some interesting and fun things to do...theatre, bars, clubs etc. that will give my friends a weekend to remember in London!
Money is not really a problem as I want to make it very special!
Open to all ideas...let me know
Cheers
Jen Happy

Very helpful swish!

For daytime stuff I'd recommend the London eye for the view, the Duck tour for fun and to see a bit of London. Buy theatre tickets for anything you fancy available on the day from the half price ticket booths in and around Leicester Square. The Jewel Bar in Piccadilly is nice, as is Kensington Roof Gardens and The Aquarium Club. If money is no object a drink at the St Martins Lane hotel and/or the Oxo tower is recommended.

If all else fails you could have a few vinos in vineopolis (wine tasting place) which I think is London Bridge direction, which is always great for a walk along the river too. Have fun.

If you are planning on going clubbing, I would recommend The Penthouse at No.1 Leicester Square which offers absolutely stunning Panoramic views of central London as the club sits more than high enough above ground level.

Or you could go to Kensington Roof Gardens which offers something unique, I'm talking plush beyond all belief! The venue is absolutely stunning!

My reason for recommending these clubs is that unlike the various other basement clubs around, these venues sit in the top floors of their respective buildings and well it certainly beats the London eye!

For info on events and to book guestlists simply visit the links below.

All of the above sounds great. You can actually hire a cocoon on the Eye and serve drinks in it which might be a nice way to kick an evening off. Or you could hire a limo or a London bus (each with a bar) for a grand tour!

You might also like to try asking some of the London taxi drivers where they are taking people, what trends they've noticed and what they think would enable you to get the best out of London that wouldn't cost the earth.

You can get through to them on the number on the top right hand side of this page.

Hope you have a great time!

Gerard.

Something to remember would be going to the ICE bar in Crouch End. The whole place is made from ice. Its £12 entry with jackets provided for the cold u can stay bout 45mins only. Its fun and unforgetable.

Putney is different from the usual of going west end and has a load of bars situated along the thames with the Fez club in walking distance.

If u like big venues open till gone 6 or 7am try Fabric or Pacha. Ends up an expensive night but worth it with no attitude.

This all sounds great, thanks for your help.
Just one thing about Penthouse, if you get yourself on the All In London guestlist, don't a lot of people? So couldn't I be standing outside for a long time?!
Duck Tour sounds good, and the London Eye too!

I went to Penthouse on Sat and didnt enjoy it at all. It didnt have a good atmosphere and they let it get over crowded making it diffucult to find a place to dance properly.

If you want somewhere nice go for Embassy, Elysium or Nells. All play good varied music, no attitude, nice sized dancefloor and each are away from Leicester Sq.
