Hi,

As the best man for my brother's imminent wedding, I've also been tasked with sorting out his stag do. It's going to be a small affair, just his closest friends and myself and in London on a Saturday in April. I've left the planning a bit late and hope to save the day!

We're thinking of a budget of around £100 max each and I'd like it to be memorable. None of us are big drinkers but we also want to have a good time, if you know what I mean.I'm thinking along the lines of something a la 'James Bond' during the day - a bit sophisticated, adventurous, different and fun ; followed by a great restaurant in the evening and some bars. After the meal, I'm thinking of something like a casino or something. None of us are that keen on the 'traditional'strip club etc. If you've got any ideas/suggestions please let me know. I'd be eternally grateful.

Hi Peter,

I recently had my stag do in London and we had a great time. We started out at Bodean's on Poland Street to line our stomachs with top quality cheap food which was a great idea as it minimised casualties later on! Then we had cocktails at the Player on Broadwick Street which is a really cool little bar, always a great atmosphere in there. Then we went back to Poland Street to Polka which is quite a reliable and stylish place. Then on to the Icebar, which is a great experience and something a bit different and a good talking point. After that we went to Below Zero which is downstairs at the Icebar. (Things get a bit hazy at this point!) They are all places I can recommend and we didn't have any problems getting a group of 16 lads in - we had reservations at Polka and the Icebar and went to the Player nice and early before it was busy. The good thing about these places are that they are all close to each other so no taxi journeys needed and minimal risk of losing people!

AIL has a random night out generator which you could use - I'm sure it would come up with some similar ideas.

I've just come back from a stag weekend in Newcastle where we went karting during the day. It was a great idea and we all had a real laugh. I think there's a karting track somewhere near Kings Cross but I'm not sure - perhaps someone else knows?

Anyway, have a great time and good luck with the wedding speech!

Hi,

Have you seen this example night out on the Night Out Generator?

http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/nightout.php?type=revive&nid=1&display=90

sounds pretty close to what you want.

For the daytime why not hire an Aston Martin and drive out to a golf club (the rest of the lads can go in an EasyBus). After a round of golf get tuxedos on and drive the Aston in to London to your hotel. From there do something like that night out.

Very Bond-like Cool Dude - although very bloody expensive aswell I'd imagine.

Good luck with it.

If it's activities your after instead of just drinking then you could do something like go karting or clay pigeon shooting (yeah, there are shooting places in London or just outside).

Alternatively, have you thought about a boat cruise or canal boating for the day? Or maybe even going to the dogs (dog racing that is).

Have a look at www.stagsandhens.com - it's got loads of useful ideas.
