taking teenage kids to London

I am bringing my two teenage sons (13 and 15) to London this month, and would love to take them to see a live band in a pub or something, and to a live comedy show. Is there any where I can take them ? We live in the country so their age is not an issue when it comes to pubs etc, but in London I think it will be a problem.
