This place is fantastic. This was our second meal there and again the food was awesome. The service is personal. Value for money is definitely their and the relaxed atmosphere is the making of a romantic evening. Upgraded the house bottle of wine to a superb Rioja. This is an evening experience rather than just a meal. Will definitely be going back. Thumbs up, do yourself a favour and get booked in worth a try.

Better than Brick Lane!

I love this place. Friendly staff, good food and excellent value for money. If you're in Soho and want curry I would always recommend this place. Everyone I've taken has loved it and they've recommended it to others. Check it out!

Service was superb: they were very accommodating, and even adapted dishes for a wheat-free, diary-free diet. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and some really interesting dishes and combinations. We would thoroughly recommend based on our experience.

We were made to feel so welcome, even though the restaurant was busy that night. As soon as we were seated, we were served with some papadums and chutney, followed by our order of drinks. All the staff were very attentive and seemed to delight in working there. Not once did we have to attract their attention. The food was very fresh tasting and overall very impressive. I will definitely be back! (our second visit).

Welcome was warm on arrival and myself and my friend were able to choose a table for 2 by the window, despite the fact that this is a small but cosy restaurant. The restaurant appears to be family-run and the food we were served was excellent and well balanced spices. We had the house special, a Medium flavoured Chicken Tikka Dish which was washed down with a bottle of refreshing rose! Recommended.

Don't bother with this restaurant. The waiting staff were extremely impersonal and were only concerned with getting us in and out. On a positive note the food was good, but overpriced. Totally marred by the service.

Went into The Golden Oven in Soho during the royal wedding holidays, very impressed with the whole evening. The staff, were brilliant and knowledgeable also quick to check with the chef when we said we had both nut and onion allergy sufferers dining. The food was fantastic, tasted very fresh, on a whole it was a great dining experience. Will visit again when back in London. (Group form Dublin).

The Golden Oven in Soho was excellent for a pre theatre Dinner. Unfancy, traditional honest food without the grease and boring options that let most other Indian restaurants down. The Waiter simply recommended a dish of mixed fish (wasn't on the menu - couldn't decide as spoilt for choice). The recommendation was excellent - clean, fresh well executed food with a personal touch to the service. Will Return.

Bad, bad place. Save your money and go elswhere. Drinks were over priced and I think we were given the childrens menue - tiny, tiny portions. The butter chicken went back twice as it was all butter.

They rely on people not coming back. Do not go in the first place.

Made a reservation for Valentine’s Day and we had a really great night at The Golden Oven. Great and innovative food. Friendly and enthusiastic service - people proud of where they work and the food they are serving. We were made to feel welcome and special from the moment we arrived. Great job team!

The Golden Oven is a great restaurant in Soho. The food is of good quality and very reasonable. The service was great, we were not rushed and every need was catered for. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would gladly go back.

A long-standing favourite for high-quality Indian food. We have been there many times and often bring people we want to entertain or impress. Fantastic food and service as always. Great team always welcoming you with a smile and excellent regular client recognition. All round great value. Would definitely recommend.

I was so impressed with the reviews at the Golden Oven, that I thought I would try it for a ladies group meal and we had a wonderful evening. The food was plentiful and delicious and the service was incredible. I spoke to the manager beforehand to arrange a menu so that we could pay a set price and he had several suggestions to help the evening run smoothly. It is hard to please a large group, but I was thrilled that so many said they would go back again with their partners.

My family of five really enjoyed the meal experience. The food was terrific but it was the wait staff that really helped to make the evening. They were welcoming and friendly and listened to our likes and dislikes then prepared an evening meal for us all to suit. The wine list was a little scant for my liking but I managed to find a good white. In short, it was by far the most expensive evening meal we have had in our ten day stay in London, but it was also the most pleasant.

There appears to be a lot of very positive reivews on this restaurant which have a number of things in common - they appear to all be from the same person (although claiming different things, such as being from New York or working in London or on holiday) but also they appear to be littered with gramatical errors and spelling errors. Unfortunately, it appears you cannot report reivews on this website (I can't seem to find the option anyway). Personally, if they are doing their own reviews I'm going to avoid it I'm afraid!

My wife and I found the Golden Oven about 12 years ago. We vacation in London almost every year and we always make sure to have at least one meal there, usually 2 or 3. The staff is great and they greet us warmly every year. The food is great, and we've had Indian cuisine all over the world. The cost is modest by London standards. You can't do better!

Great food great service and good value. What a proper curry house should be smack bang in the middle of Soho - What more could you want.

The food and service are good. But be careful not to be ripped off. Only order from the menu. If you take the waiter's alternative you will be paying through the nose.
After you have eaten everything it's difficult to complain. They know most people are tourists and will not be returning to London in the near future. Toilets are also not to the best hygiene standards.

Excellent service and Food was delicious. It's a perfect place to have decent dinner. The waiting staffs were delightful and attentive with excellently crafted food. The House Special was well spiced and balanced as any we've ever had, and the vegetable rice made an interesting change from plain pilau. Definitely will visit this restaurant again. Top marks all round.

I was extremely impressed by The Golden Oven. In particular, the waiting staffs were highly attentive and very helpful. The menu had a lot of food but the staffs were able to help us with the selection and the choices that were made were spot on. The food tasted very nice and fresh. Overall we were treated as guest in their house which made the evening very pleasant. Hope to visit again keep up the hard work.

I was planning to give 10 out of 10 but thought 9 would be reasonable. The Golden Oven was a great choice and it certainly impressed my friends who were very surprised to find a quality Indian restaurant in the heart of London. The service was polite and prompt and the food was excellent and fresh. The only down side is that the restaurant is small but very cosy. We will definitely be going back.

The service at Golden Oven was excellent with very friendly and efficient waiters. They served very hot and tasty food which was not too spicy. (Then again I orderd a mild curry) The only criticism was that the table was not large enough to hold all the food! We look forward to returning soon.
