The Shipwright Arms has a small lunchtime dining area that is railed off from the rest of the pub. The pub has a nautical theme and the star attraction is the high ceiling tile painting by Charles Evans & Co. They can cater for private parties upon request and provide outside seating on the pavement.

We had lunch and a drink in the Shipwrights Arms Toolley Street, in August 2013 and we were very impressed with the quality of the food (one awkward vegetarian friend!)and the service. We are from Melbourne, Australia so this is praise indeed, as we're very fussy. If we'd been staying in London longer, would've gone to the pub again. The Shard is awesome too.

I booked out the room upstairs in The Shipwright Arms for a private funtion on a Saturday night. I thought the service and pub was great and the staff were very helpful with what we needed. I would definately recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxed and simple function room for a party or meeting. Real friendly all round.

I made the mistake of visiting this pub earlier this month. Ordered a pint (Pride I think it was) which was distinctly under par, not vinegar but definately not nice. I discretely brought this to the attention of the Landlady who pronounced it to be OK and declined to offer any alternative. I was stunned. I suggested that she drank it herself and left £3 poorer.
Bad beer and a bad attitude to customers - I certainly won't be back.
Fortunately there was an excellent pint of Old Wallop and charming service to be had at the Davy's pub just up the road.
