What is ayurveda?

‘ayur’ means ‘life’ and ‘veda’ means ‘science’.

This fascinating, ancient indian life science teaches that we each have our own unique concoction of the five elements: fire, earth, water, air, space.

Once we begin to identify and recognize the way these elements manifest in us, we can empower ourselves to create homeostasis through conscious choices.

Angie and emily, both ISHTA teachers, will help you discover your dosha (your constitution) and how to keep it balanced (sattvic) through your yoga practice.

what to expect on the day?
Insightful explanations on ayurveda and the doshas combined with a fun flowing asana and meditation practice for an enlightening and festive december afternoon.

This is an open level workshop suitable for all.

emily is deeply committed to health, well being and achieving a greater life balance through yoga, ayurveda and meditation. Her classes encourage students to sense within, feeling the subtleties of the practice and the impact on the body and mind. Emily’s teaching is greatly influenced by alan finger’s ISHTA yoga. She has studied and trained for the past few years with katrina repka in london and alan in new york. She annually travels and studies ayurvedic philosophy with dr. ramadas in india. www.emilyreedyoga.com.

angie believes in the power of the individual to grow, love and transform. She experienced this firsthand when she committed to her yoga practice and uncovered her passion for health and wellbeing. A native new yorker, angie studied and taught ISHTA yoga in ny under the guidance of teachers yogiraj alan finger, jean koerner and peter ferko. Now a londoner, she is thrilled to be sharing the ISHTA teachings to a new and growing community. Angie is a yoga alliance RYT 500 teacher.
