All In London Review
Nothing exciting about Fish!
I am deeply suspicious of the latter practice. Firstly, it makes no sense. Why write in an email/text: “I’ll meet you at 7!” instead of “I’ll meet you at 7”. So perhaps the person writing is extremely excited at their imminent meeting, in which case this is fine, but in my experience this symbol is overused. I’m sure it is not possible to be enthusiastic about “just hoovered my room!”, or “I’m going to learn how to use punctuation properly!”
My suspicions were confirmed at Fish, or Fish! as they label themselves. As I read the menu I began to feel dizzy - there were exclamation marks all over the place, from their menu! with its starters! through to the desserts! A subsequent look at the Fish! website revealed their locations! and opening times! with great enthusiasm.
Our waiter was so chirpy I wanted to hit him with a fish. He had the kind of blonde haircut and white teeth that would make him an ideal choice for a boyband. We forgave him however as he was knowledgeable of the menu, and answered our questions and suggested a wine with confidence.
It’s a shame the food didn’t live up to all the hype. The fish and chips with mushy peas was bland, and at £15.95 for the cod (rising to £18.95 for halibut) incredibly extortionate. The classic fish pie was a reasonable enough dish made with mashed potato and salmon, however better pies can be found for less than £10.95.
Despite this being a Saturday night, we were surrounded by families with children, some prancing around, some screaming, no doubt encouraged by all the exclamation marks. From now on, I’m staying away from anything with an exclamation mark, unless it’s to have a good old rant!!!

This was really bad. My friend's fish soup was watery, her fresh fruit pudding was frozen and tasteless, but worst of all, her fish main course came with a piece of scouring pad in it!
My meal was edible but enjoyment ruined by my friend's triple yuk.
The food is expensive and the portions less than generous. The service was acceptable, however.
Truly disgustingly appalling!!!

My mother and I have really enjoyed our dinner at "Fish!". The food was really good, especially the oysters. I will definitely be taking my friends there. The price is justified in my opinion as the quality of products used is superb.

Very poor meal with exspensive fish and chips with halibut - one small portion and one half the size and overcooked. Chefs stood in kitchen talking about something but not about cooking good food.

We would not go back to the Fish restaurant at london bridge again, very disappointed with our main meal , and it wasn't cheap.

Went to the Fish Restaurant after shopping at Borough market. The food was very good. My girlfriend and I shared starters of Calamari and crab cakes and main courses of fish pie and sea bass. Everything tasted fresh and the fish stock gravy was exceptional. The service however is poor. The waiters seem to like to make themselves scarce, so make sure you order everything straight off. The place was nearly empty but i still had to go looking for a waiter to order a drink. The service charge was 12.5 % and I was a bit reluctant to pay it as it’s not cheap. So all in all, food great, service leaves a lot to be desired.

Hello! was just hoping to find someone's opinion, but obviously I'm not at ease with this new(for me!) site!I live in France but have many students who travel to London & would like to know where I could send them, with menus to print etc. Thanks for letting me type these few lines & hopefully in future I'll be able to taste the London night life(sigh)
Have your say
