Philip Howard of the Square fame is also behind Kitchen W8. Here he’s teamed up with Rebecca Mascarenhas, co-owner of Sam’s Brasserie in Chiswick, making this an interesting pairing of a double Michelin-starred, fine dining expert with an authority on quality neighbourhood restaurants. Although they’ve billed this as a local restaurant, being in Kensington and owed by Howard was never going to make this a casual eatery.
Ingredients are sourced as locally as possible, and chef Mark Kempson excels at creating interesting dishes like poached cod in hazelnut butter. The wine list includes 20 wines available by the glass.

Food excellent and so is the manager. The waitresses have abit of an attitude which is unwelcome when dining. Wine is not presented well if at all and one of the waitresses French I think could do with some manners towards clientele who speak French. I was impressed by the Chef though. Generally good and worth a visit.

I was there first time without reservation, we got the worse possible table next to WC door despite the restaurant was almost empty during our entire dinner experience but 4 tables got occupied during our time, it was difficult to get staff to come to our table, the wine was not presented properly.
