Joe Mercer Nairne, previously chef of Chez Bruce, and David O’Connor, who has managed Chez Bruce, the Ledbury and the Square, opened Medlar in 2011. Their first restaurant received a unanimous thumbs up from critics for the restrained yet perfect execution of its dishes, which have a slight bias towards meat. They received their first Michelin star in 2013.
A combination of muted hues, a mirrored wall, and eye-catching bursts of green on the studded booth seats is daring, but elegant and understated nonetheless. Overall this is makes for a very sophisticated dining experience.

Went to Medlar twice, and the menu has never failed to please me. While the place itself is cosy, there isn't a buzz or anything of the kind but more importantly, the food is always excellent. Sommelier is very good and recommends great wines to pair with the food at affordable prices. And service is good while not outstanding. Good for those who are food lovers more than the trendy type.
