Simon Rogan has replaced Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's restaurant. Rogan currently holds two Michelin stars at his flagship restaurant L’Enclume in Cartmel, Cumbria, which was named ‘Best Restaurant in the UK’ by the Good Food Guide 2014, and ‘Restaurant of the Year’at the 2013 Observer Food Monthly Awards.
'Fera' means 'wild' in Latin, and Rogan and his team create dishes inspired by the elements. Ingredients are sourced from his own farm and the menu changes frequently.

Clearly Fera is fantastic - the food is exquisite, the decor beautiful and tasteful and there's something so likeable about Rogan that you want to support him and for him to do well. What I just couldn't get past was the juxtaposition that was presented; this is Simon Rogan from earthy Cumbria with his foraging roots at a restaurant called "wild" (Italian or otherwise), yet what was there was this pristine, luxurious, polished and immensely controlled environment with nothing remotely wild about anything but my companion's hairstyle... very confusing... but oh so very tasty!!
