”[Wong Ka-jeng is] probably the most talented musician I have ever met.”
– Claude Frank

“Most pianists are either virtuosic or musically deep, the unfortunate case for KJ is that he is genuinely both.”
– Emile Naoumoff

On two consecutive nights at Wilton’s Music Hall Music Lab present three bold works – Fingerman, Beloved Clara and SMASH – co-presented by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. This innovative concert experience explores social and cultural issues.

Music Lab’s artistic director, seasoned pianist WONG Ka-jeng, performs Fingerman, exploring the concept of God in an experimental solo piano piece and leading the audience on a journey of bewilderment and awe.

Beloved Clara tells – through piano, violin and soprano – the life of pianist and composer Clara Schumann and her influence on husband Robert Schumann and closest confidant Johannes Brahms.

The ‘3-in-1’ concert ends with SMASH where harmonica player CY Leo and saxophonist Timothy SUN join WONG Ka-jeng for an enigmatic smashing together of pop, classical and jazz: arrangers Pong LAW and Perry LAU’s reimagining of music boundaries. The trio reshapes perceptions of famous tunes from across eras and genres to surprise listeners with new musical possibilities.
