'WAKE UP LONDON' LAUNCHES AT THE GARDENING SOCIETY

NEW HIIT FITNESS CLASS FOR WORKING LONDONERS BOOSTS METABOLISM, STRENGTH AND COGNITIVE SKILLS

This summer, John Lewis is teaming up with fitness specialists HEX to launch high intensity boxing circuit class 'Wake Up London' at The Gardening Society. Taking place every Tuesday and Thursday morning, workout in the pop-up quintessential British garden above John Lewis' flagship Oxford Street shop.

Designed specifically for London professionals, the 45 minute classes will be structured around 'Tabata' (a style of high intensity interval training). 'Wake Up London' will form part of John Lewis's wellbeing workshop series of events, taking place at The Gardening Society throughout the season.

Using a combination of boxing, knee and leg kicks, and fast paced exercises, participants will enjoy an invigorating workout, which will boost their metabolism for up to 24 hours. Burning more fat than a one hour jog, the sessions will help to build all over body strength as well as develop and strengthen cognitive skills. Those taking part will leave feeling mentally and physically strong and ready to tackle the working day ahead.

Founded in 2016 by Phil Wilkins and Chris Timmins, HEX is a fitness and nutrition community based in Clapham, South West London. They are in the business to do one thing, make people physically and mentally strong. Using a mixture of strength training, weightlifting and high intensity interval training, HEX will give you the skills and help you find the motivation to reach your goals.

The John Lewis Gardening Society rooftop will be the place to be in the Capital this summer, as it plays host to 100 'Summer Series' events including gardening masterclasses, wellbeing workshops, yoga, fitness and HIIT training.
