The final concert of our season consists of two masterpieces from classical Vienna. Beethoven’s second symphony is bursting with energy and wit in its three quick movements, complimented by a beautifully lyrical Larghetto. Mozart’s ‘Great’ mass in C minor has everything from baroque-inspired choruses to operatic virtuoso arias. Although Mozart left it unfinished for reasons that have never been entirely clear, what we do have is hugely satisfying in performance. The concert is conducted by David Lardi.
