Shiftless Shuffle Legendary Jazz dance Session 2017

Shiftless Shuffle Dancefloor Jazz class and club, Sunday 17th September will mark the end of Summer 2017. All our sessions have been superb in bringing people together and enjoying all forms of Dancefloor Jazz at its finest and this one’s no different, as we’re featuring, in his Shiftless debut, Gip Dammone.

DJ Gip Dammone comes from a hospitality and music based background and is one third of the famous Dig! Family in Leeds who have promoted 100% live Jazz and Dancefloor Jazz sessions in Leeds since the mid ‘80s, bringing Jazz, Funk, Soul and Latin artists to Leeds, which is also the birth place of the New Mastersounds. The Dig! Family are legendary in Leeds and have promoted many nights at the famous Underground & Cooker over the years. Although no stranger to the decks, this will be Gip’s Shiftless Shuffle DJ debut and we’re partnering him up with no other than da Boss Perry Louis, founder of the famous JazzCotech Dancers who have of course performed at the Dig! Family nights so we think this is a perfect union. Expect a Dancefloor Jazz party with explosive music and great people: Dancers, Collectors and Party Persons alike!

Of course, as always, we will start Shiftless Shuffle with a 1 hour long class in the specialist Street-Fusion Jazz Dance style which is open to Novices and experienced Dancers alike and will be tailored to all needs on the day, providing the opportunity to learn the rhythmical, intricate footwork and so-called drop moves that are iconic and exclusive to this style. Teaching it are the hosts of the day – JazzCotech Dancers who have danced with all the greats from Incognito to James Brown and Roy Ayers and who are currently the only Dance group teaching this style.

The ensuing club session has people flocking to it from all corners of the UK. Billed as “the coolest thing to do in London on a Sunday” by Time Out, Shiftless Shuffle is the place to hang out, be seen and be inspired to strut your stuff to some incredible music, or simply kick back with a drink and enjoy watching the many Dancers do their thing.
