With World Animal Day around the corner, leading face paint brand Snazaroo has quizzed kids about some of the world’s most endangered animals – revealing that more than half of children can’t spot some of the world’s most critically endangered animals.

Of the 400 children aged 6–13 asked, more than one in 10 don’t recognise a rhinoceros – a species perilously close to extinction with less than 2,500 left worldwide.

Orangutans, a critically endangered species with just over 100,000 left in the world, were also high on the list of creatures children couldn’t identify, with over a fifth (22%) of children unable to spot the great ape when shown a picture.

To help raise awareness of these critically endangered animals for this year’s World Animal Day this Wednesday 4th October, Snazaroo has launched an exclusive Secret Animal Awareness Menu at The Real Greek, Soho.

Each of the six dishes is inspired by an animal that is close to extinction, and includes educational information on the animals to teach children about the critically endangered species.

For each dish ordered from the Secret Menu, guests will also receive a complimentary Snazaroo animal facepaint kit to help transform kids into their favourite animal.
