Join us for a three-part talk with tea and cake celebrating the WI, as part of our Women and the Hall festival.
The first guest will be Anne Stamper, the Women’s Institutes’ recently retired archivist, and a previous NFWI Vice Chair, who will be talking through the history of the WI, how it prepared women to take their place in public life, and the special relationship it holds with the Royal Albert Hall.
For the second part of the event, we will be joined by Daisy Cooney, President of the Shoreditch Sisters, who will be talking about the WI in the modern day and how it can remain relevant into the future. Having always felt strongly about raising the profile of women’s issues, she encourages the members of her WI chapter to explore these topics and learn more about how, together, women can support each other throughout their lives.
Lastly, we will be joined by Lynne Stubbings, the Chair of the National Federation of Women’s Institutes (NFWI).
