Joining us for our 3rd annual ‘Evening of Adventure’ are broadcaster Kate Humble, adventurer Richard Dunwoody and explorer Benedict Allen. Fresh from their latest adventures, our esteemed line-up will be sharing their travel stories from destinations as diverse as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Papua New Guinea and Japan.

Kate Humble will be speaking about her experience travelling to the Democratic Republic of Congo to visit the Eastern Lowland Gorillas and make a short film to help re-develop tourism in this forgotten part of Africa.

Richard Dunwoody will share the trials and tribulations of walking the length of Japan’s three major islands on a three month, 2000 mile unsupported trek.

Benedict Allen, who found himself in the spotlight in November after going missing in the Papua New Guinea jungle, is back by popular demand with the latest instalment of his return travels to a country that he first visited more than 30 years ago and is still proving to be a challenging environment.

Proceeds from the evening will aid the Wild Frontiers Foundation and a new project we are undertaking in the Congo, giving local people the opportunity to visit the Eastern Lowland Gorillas as a part of a community education and conservation initiative in Kahuzi-Biega National Park. While visitors from around the world come to see the Eastern Lowland Gorillas, only a small number from the local community have had the opportunity to do the same, and seeing these animals first-hand will help raise the awareness of the importance of protecting these great apes.

Working with charity partner the Pole Pole Foundation, we aim to give 200 local people the chance to visit the gorillas as a part of their conservation training.

A cash bar will be available between 6pm - 7pm.

If you cannot make it on the night, unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds. A portion of your ticket price will still be donated towards the Wild Frontiers Foundation.

*Due to the unpredictable nature of the speakers' schedules, there could be last minute changes to the line-up.
