Pure Expression present a new show revisiting the story of Frankenstein through an immersive journey across library spaces. A contemporary take on a classic novel combining theatre, music and installations.

Frankenstein is an immersive theatrical adaptation of Mary Shelley’s iconic novel, specially designed for library spaces.

The audience wear headphones and hear the voices of the story’s haunting characters while they explore the library’s hidden corners. Visitors venture from room to room and from memory to memory following the ghost of Victor Frankenstein. With a soundscape created by award-winning musician Taz Modi, the show is an intimate, haunting journey through a character’s mind.

Pure Expression is an immersive theatre company that reimagines classic stories in unique environments. We work particularly in libraries, museums and galleries and aim to create projects that are inspiring, accessible and fun for a range of audiences. Over the last few years, Pure Expression has worked with institutions such as the Grant Museum of Zoology, the Jewish Museum London and Westminster Reference Library.
