Chelsea Physic Garden will also host ‘An Elixir of Letters’ exhibition between May to October to celebrate the theme of DRINK; a collaboration with the Lettering and Commemorative Arts Trust to present new artworks by leading lettering artists. The exhibition features stone, slate and metal works inspired by the myriad of plants that are the ingredients in teas and tisanes, wines, cordials, beers and herbal brews. Fifteen artists including Martin Cook, Annet Stirling, Karim Lahhan, Alyosha Moeran, and Charlotte Howarth were invited to the garden for inspiration. They responded to the topic of DRINK with proposals for standing stones and sculptures, sundials and ornaments that are witty and wise featuring inscriptions for poetry, drinking songs and recipes. All works in ‘An Elixir of Letters’ are for sale, via the Lettering and Commemorative Arts Trust. An exhibition that will slake the thirst of art lovers and gardening enthusiasts alike…
