Matisse Prints features more than 60 rare and important works from Bernard Jacobson Gallery’s collection. The largely monochromatic works featured in this exhibition date from 1900 to the 1940s, and demonstrate 6 distinct printmaking approaches employed at different times during Matisse’s artistic career – lithography, etching, linocut, woodcut, dry point and aquatint. Except for two self-portraits, the female form is the exclusive subject matter of Matisse Prints.
