The devil, a talking cat, & a naked witch.
Produced by ART-VIC (Anglo-Russian Theatre)

Presented by The Cockpit

ART-VIC (Anglo-Russian Theatre) proudly presents a new version of Mikhail Bulgakov’s timeless masterpiece ‘Master and Margarita’.

“One hot spring, the devil arrives in Moscow, accompanied by a retinue that includes a beautiful naked witch and a talking black cat with a fondness for chess and vodka. The visitors quickly wreak havoc in a city that refuses to believe in either God or Satan. But they also bring peace to two unhappy Muscovites: one is the Master, a writer pilloried for daring to write a novel about Christ and Pontius Pilate; the other is Margarita, who loves the Master so deeply that she is willing literally to go to hell for him. “

ART-VIC was founded in 1996. The company is an expansion of the highly acclaimed ‘Theatre Collection’ and ‘Act Provocateur International’ which has a history spanning for over 20 years. They have performed at 12 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals and in various National and International festivals in USA, Africa, Europe and Russia. ART-VIC continue to strive to present to the audience a collection of very different styles: from medieval farce to experimental theatre, from classic to modern international drama and new writing.

Adapted and directed by Victor Sobchak - Artistic Director of ART-VIC (Anglo Russian Theatre)
