Returning for their fourth music event at Drawing Room, Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s Ubu Ensemble will perform an ambitious programme of works that explore female expression in response to the exhibition From the Inside Out. With works by composers including Thomas Ades, Cathy Berberian, Sally Beamish, John Cage, Ethel Smyth and more.

From the Inside Out is a group exhibition of female artists who utilise expanded forms of drawing to navigate a passage from personal experience to the outside world. Featuring new works by all four artists, the exhibition explores the capacity of drawing to convey the complexity and diversity of female experience.

Drawing Room explores ideas around contemporary drawing and makes them visible in the public domain. As the only public and non-profit gallery in the UK and Europe dedicated to contemporary drawing, Drawing Room provides a unique resource for the promotion of drawing, its practice, theory and methodology.
