Celebrate over 100 years of the women’s suffrage by meeting May Billinghurst - one of those who fought for it.

‘May’ is a one woman show based on the life of ‘the crippled suffragette' May Billinghurst, whose story has been widely ignored by the history books. Using original letters and extracts between May Billinghurst, her family, and other Suffragettes including Emmeline Pankhurst, ‘May’ offers an exploration of the constricts facing women, the repression of LGBTQI+ individuals and the restricted lives of disabled people, in the claustrophobic Edwardian era.

Through May’s story, Phoebe Kemp - writer, actress and activist - encourages us to reflect, and really ask ourselves “how far have we come in 100 years” in the fight for equality?
