Song of Dina

Concert performances of full-length modern opera with spoken word giving voice to Dina, sister of Joseph before his coat of many colours.

Her story in the Bible, Genesis chapter 34 is told entirely from the point of view of the men involved.

Now it's her turn to be heard.

Playwright Diane Samuels (author of Kindertransport) has written the libretto for Maurice Chernick's freshly composed score for a soloists, chorus and band of singers and musicians of all ages and backgrounds to bring alive Dina's new psalm of ancient voices.
