AWARD-WINNING ARTIST TO APPEAR AT LONDON GALLERY

Wildlife painter, Robert Oxley, will be making an appearance at a London gallery next week to unveil his latest collection, Primal Colours.

Local art fans will be able to meet the acclaimed contemporary artist at Castle Fine Art on South Molton Street on Thursday 2nd May between 6pm and 8pm when they can learn about the inspirations and techniques behind his newest body of work.

Primal Colours sees Oxley move away from natural palettes, bringing his wildlife subjects to life using only psychedelic primary colours.
Completely self-taught, the artist’s career has gone from strength to strength since he launched a publishing career with Washington Green, the UK’s leading fine art publisher, in 2015. This came after he was a finalist in Castle Fine Art’s IN:SIGHT campaign, which seeks out the UK’s up-and-coming artistic talent and provides the opportunity to have their work publicly showcased.

Prior to this, Oxley received a commendation from the esteemed BBC Wildlife for Artist of the Year.

Speaking ahead of his appearance in London, Robert Oxley said: “For this collection, I’ve explored animals with a restricted palette of primary colours. The goal was to return to a starting point, remaster old skills and to convey animals in a primal way - in their primal way.”
