Contemporary urban pop artist, Rich Simmons, will be exhibiting his latest curation of new work at Box Galleries from 2 May.

This is Simmons’ latest exploration of the intersections of visual culture, spanning Pop Art, the Early Renaissance, contemporary fashion and beyond.

Simmons’ work is a melting pot of cultural and aesthetic reference, demonstrating his passion for genre, fusing and contrasting; warping and reworking. A self-taught artist, Simmons uses stencils and spray paint to create his bold silkscreen prints. His work channels the desperation of Roy Lichtenstein's weeping sirens, David Shrigley’s aching humour, the nostalgia of Jack Kirby’s impactful rendering and of course the allusions to Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous masterpiece, Mona Lisa.

Of IMAGINARIUM, Simmons says: “This is a celebration of the imagination and all the ideas and evolutions of my creativity in one show."
