The Covent Garden May Fayre & Puppet Festival celebrates the first recorded sighting of Mr Punch in England by Samuel Pepys in May 1662 'within the rayles of Covent Garden'. Punch & Judy Professors & Puppeteers from all over the country gather to perform.
The day starts with a Grand Procession around the neighbourhood led by the Superior Brass Band, followed by a Special Church Service at 12 noon and then Shows and Stalls all day from 12.30pm to 5.30pm.
