ORCHESTRA OF ROCKS PRESENTS CAVE MUSIC:
An Installation of Sculpture and Sound by Uta Kögelsberger, In collaboration with Atau Tanaka, with contributions by Dane Law, Shelley Parker, Chooc Ly and Marv Radio
Exhibition Opening hours: (FREE)

Loosely based on the notion of a ritualistic “Stop the Rain Dance” Kögelsberger’s installation of sculpture and sound “Orchestra of Rocks presents Cave Music” is a response to the increase of rainfall due to climate change and man’s often futile attempt to control nature. An 8 channel sound installation of free standing, simulated “rock-speakers” spreads mixes of Kögelsberger’s recordings captured during heavy rainfall in the mouth of a disused mine, creating a trancelike, rhythmic and ritualistic soundscape hovering between abstraction and dance track.

An Evening of Live Performances by:

Atau Tanaka, Dane Law, Chooc Ly, Shelley Parker and the ‘Battle of Rocks’ with Radio Marv

Followed by the details about the performative interactions

Saturday, during an evening of live performances, experimental sound artists Atau Tanaka, Shelley Parker, Dane Law, and Chooc Ly will create their interpretations of the original sounds. In a new intervention Battle of the Rocks the beat boxer Marv Radio will enter into a direct dialogue with the beats emitted by the rocks.
