Alexander James: 'Sharper Than Razor Blades'

Alex is a multi-media artist who is a painter, video artist, sculptor, set designer and illustrator. Based in London with a studio behind Golborne Road. His works within this exhibition depict the fluidity of identity and the versatility of our own appearances, particularly through the use of aesthetics, archetypes and social uniforms, particularly those from certain groups and subcultures.

His work is often influenced by dream states and isolated desert settings inspired by his travels and living on the road through the Arizonian and New Mexico deserts. Alex often interrogates cultural ideologies such as the American Dream via his work.
