A free pop-up cookery class for Londoners looking to upskill in the kitchen while also saving on waste, money and the planet.

The London Cookery Project in Clapham Junction will be teaching how to make a vegetarian dinner made using surplus veggies from City Harvest
Run by the Small Change, Big Difference campaign, the classes are aimed at reducing the estimated 910,000* of food that goes to waste from Londoners’ homes every year, and will inspire participants with delicious, quick and easy recipes including vegetarian dips, fruit compotes, veggie dinners and soups from fridge leftovers, as well as savoury bread and butter pudding and ‘best ever’ banana bread, all to make the most of items loitering in fridges and store cupboards and ensure nothing goes to waste.

Meat production causes a shocking 60 percent** of food-related greenhouse gas emissions worldwide, and eating less meat is one practical thing we can do to help. The expert chefs running the workshops are all passionate about food and improving the health of both people and planet; so they’ll be showing how to cook up mouth-watering dishes using mainly grains, fruit and vegetables. All ingredients are provided and will be low cost, healthy and easy to source, making the recipes straight-forward to whip up in your own kitchen!
