Used to be a good place to eat. Last week 2 of us went for quick meal of ham egg & chips, when it came chips were overdone, eggs were broken, yolks were hard & the whites overcooked & brown so we sent it back, nice woman at the bar. 2nd time one plate was fine but the other still eggs broken, not runny & looked a mess so sent it back, waitress was a bit funny. 3rd time eggs were worse than the 1st! Waitress agreed! Asked for my money back, supervisor had to come but he came over & just said I could. No apology or excuse. Another waitress, sullenly gave me a handful of cash. Terrible customer service.

Went round the corner to The Feathers, where GAMMON steak, egg & chips + fresh tomato was CHEAPER & a lot better food!! V gd customer service too!!

I visited today (25/11/09) for a working lunch with colleagues, the food was awful and very expensive. The homemade pasta was served very late and tasted old and left my colleague with a stomach ache. Potato wedges with cheese looked days old and the cheese ended up looking like a hard omlette with greese under it, it was overheated in the microwave. And a jacket potato that cost £6.50 was served with a small rotton potato and the salad was charged at an extra £1.50!

My advice - avoid!

Great old world traditional London pub. We were on a day visit from Oxford on a Friday evening looking for a place for a drink & food. Imediately on entereing we could tell it had character & the right atmosphere. Good choice of real ale & good menu. The service was great with very quick & helpful staff. Beer & food was good & reasonably priced too. Thoroughly recomended.

great bar that just hits you as you walk along Victoria St,the nice looking tavern surrounded by modern day glass boxes. Was recommended to me from a cab driver, which i've found to be a good sign. The meal and service were brilliant and staff very friendly,i'll guarantee to anyone you won,t get a better fish and chips in London ask father
